Because bunnies cannot vomit, they must pass any hair that they swallow. If a rabbit is not getting enough hay, this hair can cause intestinal blockages and eventual death. Signs of a hairball problem include loss of appetite and masses f hair in the feces. Giving your bunny holland lop rabbit a small amount of pineapple juice every month or so can help with this problem, but it is a preventative measure, not a cure. If you think that your bunny may be suffering from ingestion of too much hair, consult your vet.

Sneezing Bunny Holland Lop Rabbits

Sneezing and a runny nose may mean your bunny holland lop rabbit has a cold. Give your pet plenty of hay and straw to keep it warm. Sneezing can also be a reaction to bits of dirt in the air, dusty bedding or the use of strong disinfectants near your bunny. Bunny holland lop rabbits are also sneezing to clean out the airway.
Do not confuse occasional sneezing with a very serious respiratory illness called snuffles.

Snuffles in Bunny Holland Lop Rabbit

Snuffles is a very serious condition, which can lead to pneumonia or even death. The symptoms are frequent coughing and sneezing, and a runny nose. The sick bunny holland lop rabbit uses its front paws to wipe away the discharge, so the fur on the pads becomes wet and sticky.
If you think your bunny may be sick, take it to the vet immediately. Snuffles can e passed to other rabbits.

Runny eyes in Bunny Holland Lop Rabbit

Dusty hay, draughts and specks of dirt can make you’re rabbits eyes water occasionally. Wipe the eyes gently from the inner to he outer corner with cotton wool soaked in warm water witch has been boiled and cooled of. If the eyes are red and swollen with a discharge in the corners, take your bunny holland lop rabbit to the vet straight away.

In my next post I will write some more common illnesses in Bunny Holland Lop Rabbits.

So keep looking on my Bunny Holland Lop Rabbit site.

Common Illnesses in Bunny Holland Lop Rabbits

You can read here about:

Is your Bunny Holland Lop Rabbit healthy ore is he sick?

Illnesses

There are some of the common illnesses and health problems your Bunny Holland Lop Rabbit may suffer from.

Bloat in Bunny Holland Lop Rabbits

If you bunny has s swollen, hard stomach and difficulty in breathing, it may have bloated.
